The TAPPI Paul W. Magnabosco Outstanding Local Seciton Member Award recognizes outstanding leadership and exceptional service to a Local Section which has resulted in significant or demonstrable benefits to Local Section members. Sandra M. Lenz, a member of TAPPI's Lake States Section, is the 2006 recipient.
Lenz is recognizde by her fellow section members for the development and utilization of the Lake States' "Training Session Format" for technical meetings. Regarded as one of the group's most successful meetings, these training sessions provide small grops an interactive, hands-on learning opportunity. In addition to creating the concept for the meeting. she has chaired a session for the past five years. Lenz also has served on the Lake States' Executive Committee since 1990.
Lenz received her bachelor's degree in wood fiber utilization and engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1981. During her career, she has worked at Westvaco, Appleton Papers, Inc. and James River Neenah Technical Center. She also was an instructor at Fox Valley Technical College. Currently, Lenz is a staff process engineer at Appleton Coated LLC in Combined Locks, Wisconsin.
